A report from the librarian of the American Antiquarian Society is presented for the year ending October 1, 1917. The author reports that there have been added to the library 5,961 books, 5,389 pamphlets, and 206 maps, broadsides, and miscellaneous items. The author explains that any book that is not related to Americana is rejected. Other acquisitions mentioned by the author include books relating to New England local history, a collection of hymns of the Ephrata Cloister religious community, and a French pamphlet on the history of Washington. The donations made by journalist Charles H. Taylor, Jr. are also discussed.
