The Portraits of Isaiah Thomas With Some Notes Upon His Descendants.

The article discusses portraits of author Isaiah Thomas. The author notes the contribution of Thomas to the American Antiquarian Society's (AAS) Library and the use of portraits to preserve the likenesses of people for posterity. Thomas posed for a portrait by artist Ethan Allen Greenwood and later donated a copy of it to a masonic lodge in Worcester, Massachusetts. Portraits of Thomas by artists such as W.M.S. Doyle, Henry Williams and Sarah Goodrich were engraved for publication in books and periodicals. Greenwood's portrait of Thomas was also displayed in the Columbian Museum.
