A report issued by the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) Council is presented. The author discusses the construction of an addition to the AAS Library and the challenge of moving library materials into a stack in the addition. He suggests the transfer of books will offer an opportunity to implement a different classification system and notes the acquisition of bibliographical materials by the library. He compares the society's library holdings to those of the Rhode Island Historical Society. The deaths of AAS members Robert Digges Wimberly Connor and Harvey Bassler are noted.
